This chapter provides the procedures for towing a vehicle by or at the direction of the Bend Police Department and for conducting inventories of personal property in an impounded vehicle. This policy shall not be interpreted as limiting any legal authority that police officers may have to search persons or to search or seize property. Failure to follow this chapter does not give rise to a claim against the City, the Police Department, or any individual, but may be grounds for disciplinary action by the City. [Ord. NS-2159, 2011]
